For a second time, a much-anticipated pilot program to test whether integrating behavioral and physical health under Michigan Medicaid will save money, expand services and improve outcomes has been delayed another year.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services today announced it plans to delay until Oct. 1, 2020, implementation of what it called the Section 298 Initiative to design a pilot model for integrating mental and physical health Medicaid funding and care management.
