When you leave a legacy, your gift to The Arc NW will ensure that people with disabilities get the help they need, when they need it, to live their best lives. Is inclusion important to you? How about preserving it for the next generation? In 1961, a group of parents who had children with disabilities came together because they wanted a better life for their children, a life fully included.
Why should you leave a legacy?
- Your gift costs you nothing now.
- You retain control of your assets during your lifetime and, if your circumstances change, you can modify the gift.
- You can leave a gift in honor or memory of someone who inspired your commitment to people with disabilities.
- You will be remembered as someone who helped make the dream of inclusion a reality for everyone – everyone belongs.
Choose the right gift for you:
- Bequest through a Will. Your contribution can be a fixed dollar amount, a percentage of your estate plan or the remainder of your estate after making provisions for your loved ones. Charitable bequests are an excellent part of an overall tax-plan.
- Charitable Remainder Trusts offer flexibility to designate your gift while receiving an income stream.
- Charitable Lead Trusts can provide dramatic gift and estate tax saving for you and your family, while maintaining assets.
- Real Estate Remainders is giving of your home or farm today, while you use and enjoy the property for as long as you choose.
- Life Insurance Gifts may be an affordable and flexible method to create a planned gift.
- For the 2020 tax year only from the CARES Act, you may deduct cash contributions to The Arc NW and other nonprofits to offset up to 100% of your income. Ordinarily, the income tax charitable deduction for cash gifts is limited to 60% of your income. You may also be able to give even more and carry forward unused cash contribution deductions for up to five years. Please check with your accountant about what’s best for you.
