In support of The Arc NW’s Athletic Program, volunteers are needed at local Hold ‘Em Poker/Millionaire parties. These events raise funds for our athletes which are used to purchase uniforms, pay for time at practice venues, cover tournament fees, and more.
Volunteers need not commit to the entire shift – partial shift volunteers are also welcome. Training is provided!

Some additional info:

Our Millionaire Party events are usually at Vision Lanes located at Ford Rd and Hix.  These events are Texas Holdem Poker events, that are held Thurs thru Sunday with Thurs and Friday from 6:00pm to 2:00am and Sat and Sun from 10:00am to 6:00pm.  We hold cash games as well as a tournament every day.

On Thurs and Fri nights we need one person to perform computer entry, one person to take in cash, give the player their chips and seat assignment for the tournament; one person to dispense the chips at the start of the cash games and two people to run change and additional chips to the cash tables. We try to let most volunteers go home around 10:00pm, we need to keep three people to 2:00am (the computer entry, the person handling the cash chips and one runner) to satisfy the State’s requirement.  On Sat and Sun we need one person for computer entry, one person to start the cash games, take in the cash for the tournament , one runner to take players change and new chips and again we need to keep three people on site until 6:00pm.

We are allowed to sell $15, 000 in combination of tournament and cash chips, with the majority of the sales going back to the players.  On Thurs and Fri nights we usually have most of our tournament players and the players for two cash games waiting for us to starting selling at 6:30pm, about 100 people, (we have to start both tournament registration and cash games at the same time).  Sat and Sun daytime is not as demanding.

To sum it up:  we are responsible to dispensing all cash and tournament chips, taking in all cash, redeem all cash chips, prepare cash prizes for the tournament players, recording all transactions for the tournament and cash tables, taking in the rake (our profits from the cash games) and balancing the money and the end of each day.
